Last year, in August, writer Narumi Komatsu wrote a book called “M Lovable People,” (M – Ai subeki hito ga ite) which spoke of the birth and end of the Diva Ayumi Hamasaki and drew all the attention. Now, a TV drama project has been unveiled with Karen Anzai and Shohei Miura.
The drama takes place in the turbulent music industry of the 1990s. Written by Osamu Suzuki, it will follow Ayu as she moved from Fukuoka to Tokyo to become a performance artist, and how she met Masa who became her producer.
Karen Anzai, who will play Ayu, made her debut last year in June with her single “誰かの来世の夢でもいい”
Message from the main distribution:
Anzai: “I am nervous because it is my first role. But I want to think about how to improve the drama and how to update it. I would be happy if this drama became something that people look forward to.”
Miura: “For better or worse, this drama will attract a lot of attention. So I can feel the pressure. For Ayu and Masa fans, I will do my best to represent Masa!”
M Lovable will be broadcast on TV Asahi on Saturday evening from April and will be distributed on AbemaTV.
