On Friday night, designer Kanya Miki showcased his 2019 S/S collection for RABD. This small yet mighty show did now disappoint. Bright strobe lights and underground techno music underlined the monochromatic street style.
The unisex designs made use of leather, plastic and other materials which were all exclusively black or white. This collection displayed clean and minimalistic designs in a futuristic fashion that is born from underground subcultures of Japan.
This collection is prime example of the minimalism wave that is currently raining Japan. Clean color pallets in combination with multiple layers and detailed designs are the counter piece to Japan’s maximalism culture.
