Held in Isetan Shinjuku store, a project called “JAPAN SENSES” takes aim at showing the pride of Japanese product and find balance in the creation of garments with Japan’s beauty essence. Inspired by the use of techniques and traditions of Japanese clothing to show the world that heritage culture still fashionable nowadays.

It’s a collaboration between the department store Isetan and different designers and brands that gained popularity in Japan making a big eye candy.

One of the first brands is 6-D Sebastian Masuda, using a theme called “IMAYO” (which means right now) making the juxtaposition between the traditional Japanese art of “Ukiyo” with the cherry blossom flowers mixed with fashion “kawaii” of a new generation that uses unconventional materials like PVC pieces.

Other brands displayed was MOYURU that had a relaxed styled garments with oversized pants and big volumes. The theme was approached by showing as well the beauty of japan for international people inspired by dark toned colors.

With more colored themed designs Happi.Tokyo had a display of a coat with high contrast elements. Oversized as well and made by Junko Koshino representative of the brand that called the piece “HAPPYCOAT”.
